What happened

According to ICT, Tsesung Kyab set fire to himself on 25 February 2013 in front of the main temple of Shitsang Gonsar Monastery in Luchu, where many Tibetans had gathered for a prayer ceremony in which monks carry the Buddha’s statue around the monastery, and he died. Tibetan exile sources said there was a police presence at the monastery.
