What happened

According to Tibetan sources in exile cited by ICT, Phagmo Dundrup set fire to himself on the evening of 24 February 2013 at Chachung Monastery, an ancient Gelug monastery, while hundreds of Tibetans were gathered for a traditional prayer ceremony and butter-lamp offering. Monks put out the flames and took him to hospital, and he died in a hospital in Siling (Ch: Xining).
