What happened

According to ICT, Pema Dorjee had gone to Shitsang Garser Monastery in Luchu (Ch: Luqu) to pray on the anniversary of Tsongkhapa’s passing, when many people were present, and set fire to himself near the main assembly hall on 8 December 2012, and died. Exile sources told ICT that he called for the Dalai Lama to be allowed to return to Tibet and for the unity of the Tibetan people.
