What happened

Radio Free Asia, cited by ICT, reported that Lobsang Palden, a Kirti monk, set fire to himself in Ngaba county town on 16 March 2014. Monks citing local contacts said he was protesting against the violent crackdown of 16 March 2008 in Ngaba, when Chinese security forces opened fire on a crowd of Tibetans and killed at least ten people.
