What happened

According to Tibetan sources cited by ICT, including a Tibetan who spoke to an eyewitness, Tsering Gyal, a 20-year-old monk of the Jonang-tradition Akyong Monastery, set fire to himself in Pema county on 11 November 2013. Chinese security forces put out the flames and took him to a nearby hospital; ICT said it was not known whether he survived.
