What happened

According to ICT, 18-year-old Kirti monk Gepey set fire to himself near a Chinese military camp about 1.5 km from the monastery on 10 March 2012 and died.

Aftermath

Voice of America, quoted by ICT and citing Free Tibet, reported that the Chinese authorities took his body and forced its cremation the same night.
