Distinguished Panel Explores the Relevance of His Holiness’s Message
Following the screening, Marianne Tseten Dölma Trinley moderated a panel discussion featuring co-director Philip Delaquis, Gerhard Weissgrab, President of the Austrian Buddhist Union, and Madeleine Petrovic, politician and Chairwoman of Save Tibet Austria. Centred on the question of how His Holiness’s message remains relevant in a world shaped by violence and war, the discussion explored the significance of peace, compassion, and human understanding across different spheres of public life.
Drawing on their respective backgrounds in filmmaking, religion, and politics, the panellists reflected on how His Holiness’s teachings could inform present-day challenges and contribute to a more peaceful future. The conversation encouraged the audience to consider the enduring relevance of these values amid contemporary global uncertainties.
The panel discussion concluded at approximately 10:00 p.m., following an evening of film, reflection, and thoughtful exchange.
Recognising Contributions to Tibet Advocacy
Following the discussion, the V-TAG Austria Coordinator and the Head of the Tibetan Community Austria presented kathaks to the guests as a gesture of gratitude for their contributions and support for the Tibet movement.
A short photo session followed, after which attendees were invited to continue conversations with the filmmaker and panellists, ask further questions, and exchange perspectives in an informal setting. This concluding interaction provided an additional opportunity for personal engagement and dialogue.
