What happened
According to ICT, citing Kirti monks in exile, Tseypey, a 19-year-old woman from Meuruma township who had worked as a herder with her family, set fire to herself in the centre of a town in Ngaba (Ch: Aba) and died at the scene. Those who knew her described her as well-behaved, honest and gentle, ICT reported.
Aftermath
Her parents were reportedly taken away by Chinese security forces; it was not clear whether they were detained (ICT, citing Kirti monks in exile).
