What happened
According to ICT, Sangye Tso, a mother of two, set fire to herself and died outside government offices near Tashi Choekhorling Monastery in Dorkok township, Chone (Ch: Zhuoni) County. An exile source told ICT that the offices, which included the local police station, symbolised injustice to local Tibetans and had directed the crackdown on protests in 2008. ICT later reported that she had written a note calling for the long life of the Dalai Lama.
