What happened

According to ICT, citing two Kirti monks in exile, Rinzin Dorje set fire to himself at a primary school in Ngaba county town early in the evening of 8 February 2012. Radio Free Asia later identified him as a 19-year-old former Kirti monk.

Aftermath

ICT reported that he was taken away by Chinese security forces and that two monks were detained from the vicinity.
